The media
LA REVUE PHILO aims to make philosophy accessible, to feed curiosity and to offer new perspectives on the world through popularisation of knowledge. Our media started with volunteers on Instagram and now has over 200,000 followers.
The project
Host filmed discussions around a table with several participants (academics, authors, thinkers), in the spirit of a modern café-philo.
Concretely, you will be expected to:
- Start episodes and set the frame
- Welcome guests and create a climate of trust
- Ask simple questions about complex subjects
- Prompt conversation when it loses momentum
- Clarify when things become too abstract
- Rephrase for the audience
- Encourage dialogue between guests
- (Optional) propose themes and guest profiles
The format
- 1 host + 3 participants around a table
- Long, measured discussions, without aggressive editing
- Free exchanges, cross-responses, in-depth exploration
- The host serves as a thread for the viewer
You represent the audience’s point of view: curious, intelligent, but not a specialist.
Profile
- Comfortable speaking and enjoy exchanging ideas
- Interested in philosophy, ideas and culture
- Want to take part in a meaningful media project
An academic background in philosophy is a plus but not mandatory. What matters is your ability to get people to speak, to make ideas understood and to transmit them.
The framework
Our media is associative and connected to the academic world. It brings together more than 350 volunteers in France and Belgium, is supported by institutional partners, and has a dedicated studio in Brussels.
You will join a team of hosts with a flexible organisation:
- An episode is published every 3 weeks on YouTube
- Hosts rotate depending on availability
- Recordings take place on weekdays or weekends (between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM)
- Commitment compatible with studies or professional activity
- Compensation provided per episode
- Travel expenses covered for Belgium and northern France (Lille).
